This Sunday we decided to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. She is our only child so there is no excuse not to celebrate every single one of them. She turned three just recently and we just couldn’t settle on a day that worked for us. We decided to go with this weekend regardless of what came up. Couple of things came up but we still managed to pull it off.
I am not a huge planner and I work best under pressure, so I do all my shopping at the very last minute. The decorations, the cake, and even the food. Luckily, I got her dress at Target couple of weeks back on my way back from Blissdom, so that was out of the way.
In All Your Ways, Know Him and He Shall Direct Your Paths. Proverb 3:6.
I am so grateful for her three years of life. I look back at all the wonderful experience that I have experienced at such a young age with her and I believe that I am truly blessed. I don’t know why God has blessed me this much but I am definitely taking full advantage of my life as her mother. She is smart, gorgeous, sensitive, engaging and assertive. She combines so well all the qualities that makes a remarkable woman. I have no doubt that she will become a great leader and will lead her generation when they need her.
I had a blast at the party. I managed to smile through it all. And when I kissed her goodnight tonight, she looked into my eyes and smiled. We ended the evening with a hug and a kiss on the forehead. And as I head towards the door, she called my name “Mom, I love you. Goodnight. Mom”.
The. best. feeling. ever.

Happy B-day to your daughter and thank you for sharing your parenting journey with us!
Thanks Shiketa.

Happy Birthday to her and you too. I Love her dress and the cake looked so yummy. Yes, I do as it seems the older he gets the more I dread it as he will be 5 this year and be going to school which I an going to hate as I do not like being with out him.

I can imagine how sad that will be once he heads to school. I hope you are taking full advantage now. Thanks Glenda for your thoughtful comments.

count your blessings
you have a wonderful family
Happy Birthday to your beautiful little girl! I do get emotional on my son’s birthday. It’s just hard to believe this little person is growing up in front of me. I cried as we sang happy birthday at his first birthday… this year, I was able to hold it together a little better.
