One act of thanksgiving, when things go wrong with us, is worth a thousand thanks when things are agreeable with our inclinations. – St. John of Avila
This year’s thanksgiving was different. As a single mom now, holidays are different. Don’t get me wrong, I am not sitting somewhere mourning the loss of my marriage, far from it! I am just a little more creative these days. Luckily I have really great friends that welcome us into their home if we do feel like we need some family time. This is a familiar feeling anyways since I moved to the U.S at age seventeen on my own and have had to celebrate holidays with friends and their family before I started my own little family.
My co-worker at work invited us and many others to their home for Thanksgiving. These friends of ours have such a warm home and invite friends over almost all the time for holidays and gatherings, it’s just perfect.
My little girl had so much fun in her duo outfit with her Dutch friend. It really warms my heart to see that she is happy despite the past couple months of my separation with her father and impending divorce. My tough little cookie really holds her own. I am so proud of her.
My sister Rachel also came over from school where she is studying Fashion Design and Marketing. I am so proud of her and she is one of the many people I am grateful to have in my life.
I am so blessed to be surrounded by warm, genuine and beautiful people inside and out. My friend decided to wear her red dress from Vegas too, doesn’t she look beautiful. What a blessed life. Hope you all had a great thanksgiving with your family.

How wonderful that you got to enjoy Thanksgiving with friends and family! Blessings to you for a beautiful week.
Blessings to yours as well. Thanks for reading and hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving.
